The SAM 4690 Security Manager is an optional module of the SAM Portal Health Explorer, or can be provided as a stand-alone application. It provides 2 very important functions:

Through an easy to use wizard, built directly into the Health Explorer, password management across the entire 4690 Enterprise is just a few clicks away. This product makes managing passwords under IBM’s Enhanced Security environment a snap! Security Manager provides for a complete review of Command Line entries made at store level.

Features and Benefits - Operator Management

 A user can maintain their password from a remote location using secure FTP. An administrator can add new users to stores by cloning an existing user and their appropriate security attributes. An administrator can review all users and their security attributes - across the entire chain, by region or by individual store. Easily ensure that all operators have the appropriate security attributes.

Password Wizard

 A Password Wizard keeps track of when the user last updated their password in each store. This is useful in determining when the password needs to be updated again to avoid any delay due to an expired password. Keep track of which stores were successfully updated and which stores were not. Run the wizard as many times as needed until all passwords are the same in each store. The Password Wizard gives meaningful feedback to the user if the password update fails due to Enhanced Security restrictions that have been enabled in the store. The user will know if their password is too short, too long, or if it doesn't contain all of the required characters.
